WTB: EJ22T/WRX Flywheel Hey, Finally got my gearbox off and turns out my stock flywheel is full of stress fractures. Any chance anyone has one they could sell me this weekend? Thanks!
Click here for a $119 Flywheel that may fit I would ask the seller what other applications it fits. If it fits any listed on This page, it should work. If you buy it, I'll hate you forever. Being temporarily broke when there is cool **** on Ebay sucks.
Would one from an 02' WRX work? Got one laying in the garage, when I replaced the clutch, I went with a streetlite flywheel.
From what ive been reading on legacy central i can use a wrx fly and leggy-turbo clutch/pressure plate together. WRX clutches are 3mm larger in diameter but from what i understand my pressure plate will bolt up. PM me a way to get a hold of you and we can see if this is a true statement. Anyone else know what other fly's i can use with a turbo leggy hydraulic clutch/pressure plate?
If the WRX flywheel bolts up, then your XT, Baja, and GC flywheels should all bolt up. I believe the Leggy FW is 28 pounds. The WRX is only 22 so you get a significant weight savings, there. As the JDM STi FW is only 12 pounds, I'd be a little concerned about it being TOO light.
Right, i know all EJ flywheel bolt patterns are the same. Im just concerned about being able to bolt the turbo legacy clutch/pressure plate to it. Also what about the starter, would the legacy starter work with a wrx fly
Get me a link to a WRX parts manual (I have the T-Leg) and I'll do a little research to see if the schematics are similar. Pull type setups should work. edit: Did some searching on Legacy Central (you may have already seen this) and this looks to be a good thread: EJ22T and WRX Flywheel/PP/Clutch conversion thread The cliffs: WRX flywheel will bolt up to EJ22T clutch/pp. However, you might just want to get the whole assembly (WRX). I bet that the dealerships will have it in stock.
Yeah i saw that, too bad i already ordered the clutch Monday and just got it today. So im just going to use it. If anyone has a WRX fly in usable condition let me know. I would really like to get it running again this weekend. Thanks!
I might take Brian's but hes 1.5+hours out. Anyone have one local in the TC's i would be able to get tonight?
I went out and took another look and saw some small hair line fractures in the surface of my flywheel too, don't know how big they can be before it would be considered unusable, here are some pics: This pic is of the biggest crack I could find, seems the macro function on my camera found some more in the same area that I couldn't see: Thought I'd post these up here...I wouldn't want you to drive all the way up here for nothing.
