Like it says, I am in the process of hunting down a 2.5 shortblock to build my 02 WRX 2.0 engine back up in hybrid form.

I have been having problems hunting down anything worth while. This is the reason I am going to give anybody that can find a short block for me, that I end up purchasing, $50 bucks cash. I need this ASAP so that I can hopefully get my car back out on the road and end this whole ordeal.

If anyone has any leads or anything, I am interested. Thanks for any help.

Ahh, thank you. I am in the market for a EJ257.

I know the EJ257 short block works.... what are the details on the EJ255? I will preface this with a confirmation of my newb status...I thought a EJ255 might work also?

Are junk yards good places to look for short blocks? If so, anyone know of any decent ones? You could call and find one for me to make $50 bucks ;-) or can you give me a place.

You can try searching junkyards on www.car-part.com. I didn't see any listed in minneapolis though.

Also, Pam's Auto in St Cloud seems to have a lot of Subarus, you can try giving them a call and see if they can find anything.

Good luck finding a block, but you really don't need to pay me if you find it on that site.

The reward needs to go to somebody.

Just checked the site and called the salvage yard in St. Cloud... nothing.

I know a guy who is selling one. CT pistons, darton sleeves, ARP Head studs. He's asking $1400

Its sitting in his garage. hasn't been installed yet.

That's actually a good deal, someone should jump on that.

It is just a little more than I want right now. The stock Ej257 is already on the upper edge of where I want to be.

You should just offer him something. He may not refuse it. You can also take that $50 and add on to that offer.

    Number is 612-618-5221
his name is Oley. He used to drive a pretty quick 18g wrx. He wanted more speed then he sold his car.

    Tell him Kong sent you....
