My mother is looking to get into a small SUV here soon, and is looking for something with better gas mileage then her truck, but can haul more then her Miata. Trying to convert her to the dark side. She likes the quickness of my car (who doesn't?), but wants to try and keep the mpg around 25. Currently looking at a Lexus possibly, but they are a little out of the price range she wants to spend. I think she'd love the newer styling (I think it was '06 it went through the major change?), and with most of the options a luxury SUV can give you.

IF you do go lexus, stay away from the 2001 AWD model. Transmission problems (Unless its been done, feel free to PM me a VIN to see if I can find any service history on it)

thread moved. And with that done we love our 09 Forester. We just got the x premium so kinda middle of the road but the limited might be something she'd like if she's thinking more Lexus type car.

I am REALLY surprised this isn't an option since it is in the Legacy.... I would like to see a Forester 3.6L H6.

She ended up getting an '09 Cobalt with the "sport" package. But no worries. In another two years she'll be tired of that and looking for another vehicle. I don't think she's ever stayed in one vehicle for more then 3 years tops. Thread closed.
