I've got a 2004 sti and I just found I have a ripped boot on my passenger side. I'm driving to jersey on Wednesday and need to replace it asap. I ripped my boot. Just buy the boot for it and repack it with grease. As long as it doesn't click. you can always just repack it.
Did you rip an inner or outer? If its an inner you could drive to Jersey and back on it, and then some.
Seriously. boot kits = <$10. do both of them, and have an awesome, like-new OEM axle. Or leave it.
