So, I was just wondering if anyone had one laying around that I could purchase. If not, I may just hack the snorkus and seal that up, meaning that my stock air box for sale, wouldn't come with the snorkus Thanks, - Justin K.
I think I sold one to you, in fact. Well, things changed. I got the Cobb air box, So I want to put the ram scoop back on and get some cooler air right on my perrin Big MAF. The Summer heat sux. The project may require a bit of fabbing since I don't think my Koyo radiator will allow the scoop to be put back on. But, I think I can make it work.
I have yet to install it. It's still sitting there. I just have to find some time to mess with it. I suppose it's time to get the K&N cleaned. I should do both.
I hear that...I still have a ton of crap that just sits there. Why is no one interested in stock parts? :-/
Or, just take the whole thing off. Meh, I've never bought the whole stock "ram intake" thing anyway. Air from the fender is the same as air from the front of the hood.
I've never seen a test showing how much pressure the air intake scoop creates but I'd imagine it's not very high. I do know when I used the fog light intake setup with a direct path from the bumper to the intake box I saw a good jump. The downfall was the filter got filthy after about 600 miles and when it rained hard the car didn't like it when you went in to boost. That direct path for air was the a direct path for dirt and water. This year I'm going to toy around with an open air setup (in the fender) with the fog light bezel. Another thing to consider is the GP elbow has a smaller ID then the snorkus.
Cool (no pun intended). I'd like to see that data from fender vs snorkus installed. Straight MAF g/s and IAT numbers should give a pretty good idea if there is any effect.
quick question during my test fit here...does the MAF sensor HAVE to be flat, or can it be on its side or angled?
so wait for dream to sell his. he buys a bunch of parts and changes his mind and sells them all the time now.
