I currently have stock exhaust on a 2004 WRX. I now have this 3" downpipe with a flat flange on the bottom and need to figure out what to do with it. I read that you can SORTA bolt a flat flange up to the stock donut but that sounds pretty ghetto to me. Perhaps some muffler shop could make me a test pipe that would bolt up to my stock muffler or some little adapter? Ideas?

Please don't try to peddle me your ****ty CBE with a donut flange on it on here.

. . . and I know I can get a whole used CBE for a few hundred bucks but I was hoping for a cheaper and less noisy option.

daddyssp makes a nice 3" flat flange midpipe that will bolt up to the factory muffler.

it even has a flex joint!

I'm almost 98% certain that that won't work for 2 reasons:

    1. The flange that meets with the midpipe/cat section is a donut flange, which is what Mike wants to get rid of in the first place

    2. It is also a different length from the stock rear pipe. For some reason, TXS decided it would be a good idea to make their rear section and midpipe/cat section different lengths. Their shorty DP and axelback portions are the regular length, though.

BUMP! Anybody have a 3" flat-flange CBE they want to get rid of for <= $300?
