I am probablly jumping the gun a little but I am pretty excited to drive some awd in some snow!! =)

What have you got? Steelies work, otherwise cheap alloys?

    Thanks,
    Chad

Going on the theory that 15" snow TIRES are cheaper and more common and have a better selection, I narrowed my search down to that.

And although salt does bad things to alloy wheels, it's not nearly as bad as what it does to steel wheels (RUST!!), so that's also a criteria to consider.

And you probably want a common and plentiful wheel, so it's easy to replace just one when you powerslide into a curb and bend it.

With all those factors in mind, MY choice was the 15x6 six-hole Impreza / Turbo Legacy alloy wheel (Enkei mfg).

Sorry, not selling mine, but they show up pretty regularly on rs25.com's For-Sale forums (often with snow tires!), and can be found in junkyards for $35-$40 each without looking TOO hard. (at least, compared to OTHER wheels that fit Subies!)

I also understand steelies can be harder on the hub/bolts than alloys (but it might be different with subies) - anyways I went with a used set of '02 WRX rims from another member, though I spotted the post on Nasioc. (thanks again Tim!!) They're going to be powdercoated in a couple months to match better with my paint and be more understated, I just want to wear out the old stock rubber first.
[/edit] you can find these popping up on Nasioc, WRXFanatics, and others pretty regularly. Here occasionally too. I'd suggest buying locally so you can check 'em out and save on shipping.

my 15"s became corroded last winter. it caused me to have a slow and steady leak from one. ie in 1 week it ws dead flat. but simple fix. remove tire and remove surface corrosion reinstall tire. cost 15 bucks!

bigger question will 15"s clear WRX brakes? i dont think they will. (or else i would have wrx brakes)
