Bump, anyone? The wife's Blackberry doesn't hold a charge for very long. I'd like to replace it with an iPhone. They seem to have a long battery life (only positive I can see).
The iPhone is amazing. I use it for business, personal and to record video/take photos (great quality). And then there are the apps! I'm on AT&T and the call quality is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Buy the iPhone and be done with it or wait for the next one in mid summer and buy it then. Also, don't waste money on tech from 3 years ago (3Gs), at minimum pick up a 4. Regarding charge, you'll want to have a charger in the car, one a work and one at home. It comes with one charger, buy another one just like it (cheap) and a car charger and you'll be all set.
Just so you know. I don't have a data plan on either of my personal phones (mine and wife). So no need to get an iPhone 4. Besides, I make most of my calls with my left hand.
Every iPhone requires a data plan of $20/month, then if you want texting, add another $10/month for unlimited. As to why texting isn't included in the Data plan blows my mind. I have a 3g and depending on what your doing the battery will last anywhere from 1 hour to over a day. Great phone, with a few lag problems. I also agree if you are going to get an iPhone spend the money and get the 4. I've been contemplating for months now on if I should downgrade to a bare bones cell phone... but it's way to hard to give up the iPhone. I am however sick of AT&T taking $100/month from me. Its pathetic how expensive the iPhone is for service.
Fair point, you'll have to get a data plan which adds to the cost. My wife and I both have a 4 and on our family plan we pay $174/mo for both. I was paying $115 just for mine so on my end it was a price break when my wife decided to upgrade from her older Nokia flip phone. On that note, if you're not interested in an iPhone for all the other things it does that require a data plan then skip it. It's really a pocket computer that happens to make calls and as in most cases, you've gotta pay to play.
I know. Like I said, I want it for the battery life. Not too many phones (smart or not) can hold a charge like an iPhone.
I have the iphone 4 and personally feel it dies kinda quick but when i think about it It does last a long time considering I'm on it all day txting/calling/internet. If you just plan on using it for calling it probably wont ever die! (obvious exaggeration.
The more they do, the more the light up the screen, the faster the battery will die. I just need it for phone and texting. It will last a lifetime on one charge. Bump, still looking. I wish someone would just go out and get a $49 iPhone 3gs and sell it to me for $125. Wishful thinking.
Hopefully the price will drop a bit when verizon picks up a bit with their sales. This should increase competition and lower the plan prices'
I may have one. It is my dad's 3GS that he had when he upgraded to the 4. It has a small small crack on the edge but that doesn't affect anything, and you don't notice it. I am pretty sure he'd sell it, and so let me know what you think about a price...
