I am looking for someone local that I can buy Magnetic Numbers for Auto X events. Smaller letters for class designation would be good as well.
Yep, the magnets Phil made for the ice races are great. Another option, is to go to Menards and buy magnetic vent covers in the HVAC dept. And then get the stick-on numbers to stick put on them. But that's really only if you're in a hurry since the magnetic covers are kinda thin compared to what Phil made.
pm'd. You'll be needing 2 sets of numbers right? Also, one thing to keep in mind if you guys are going to run a MAC event, is that a lot of the numbers are reserved by members. Here's a current list: http://forum.mnautox.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9375
Phil Ethier (the MET Council numbers czar) tends to keep numbers in stock. He only does black numbers/letters on white panels, so if you need anything fancier, you'd need to look elsewhere. I picked mine up at http://www.soloracer.com/stdmagnetkit1.html 'cos *I* wanted fancier. Stuart.
Thanks everyone and yes we will need two sets. I'm thinking about just getting the backround and buying stick on vinyl letters from the Motorcycle shop.
I always liked the numbers they put on BMX number plates. Might want to check with the bike stores that are in to BMX. Amy
Any decent sign shop should be able to hook you up with sheet magnets and cut vinyl. I got some from a Fast Signs shop a couple of years ago.

I purchased for $15 at officemax a set (5) letter sized magnetic sheets (Avery AVE3270) and printed them on them through a laser printer. Then cut to size.
