I have a UEL header but otherwise stock exhaust. I want boxer rumble.

Looking for a muffler for my n/a 2.5 Outback. I believe my stock exhaust is 2" in diameter. I know the hangers and flange will be different, but I'll deal with that once she's up in the air.

    Anyone? Bueller?

Not sure if there is any drop in options that aren't jdm. I've heard Tim's exhaust in coon rapids has decent prices for welding a new cat back in, though my experience with them was pricey for what I wanted.

You could also try removing some of the deadening material from the muffler or welding a muffler on to the existing exhaust.

I'm looking at doing this on the cheap, which is why I'm planning on having to modify whatever I get a bit to make it fit. Getting something that bolts right up just isn't going to happen. Too expensive. I have access to a welder, pipe, and a bender so most of this will be homegrown.

Welding a muffler to the existing exhaust is the plan, just need to get a muffler. Probably cut out one of the resonators as well and swap in straight pipe.

I've considered opening the stock muffler and gutting it, but everything I've seen online leads me to believe it's not going to produce the sound I'm looking for.
