I'm looking to upgrade my break setup. It seems like there are
alot of options and wondering if anyone has suggestions on what they are using and what works. The break setup is all stock right now. It for a 2000 2.5 rs.

    Thanks

I think the best upgrade (bang for the buck) would be updating your brake to a WRX brake. You can try ebay, rs25, or nasioc. Maybe here too.

    good luck,

BTW, from your sn is your RS silver too?

Cool, I'll try taking a look and see whats out there. Also i'm not really sure what is better or worse. I know they have slotted and drilled or just regular rotors. Any preferences. Oh and yes my 2.5 is silver. I have a suicide king decal on my back window..so thats where silverkrown comes from.

I just ordered my new brake parts 5mins ago. Racing Brake slotted rotors f/r in stock size, and Hawk HPS pads. I have to keep the stock caliper and OEM size to stay within STS rules.

Racing Brake also have a very nice BBK that will bolt up to an RS. WRX size rotors, 4pot caliper (half the weight of the FHI 4pot caliper), and a single bracket to hold it all together. I already have Goodridge lines and ATE fluid.

it might be good to look at the aftermarket like stooo said. i was looking into doing the WRX 4pot brake conversion and it is pricey! even with our sweet discount its enough to make you think twice about it.

Just the stock WRX calipers/rotors up front with the H6 rear conversion with a set of lines and decent pans would be a good upgrade, one that you would see a good improvement with.

What are you planning to do with the car? Anything less than running it on a track and you are better off just getting SS lines and a good set of pads, no need to spend a lot of money. Now, if you are looking for bling, the options are as deep as your wallet. ;)

Well not really looking to running it at the track, but when I break hard the wheel shakes(probably a warped rotor) plus it's time they get replaced. Looking for something with good solid stopping power without a ton of exspensive bling. It won't mean anything if they look great but I can't stop ;)

If your a track guy I say go aftermarket like Stooo said, there less expensive and will do what you need.

If you a gravel guy I say go Wrx 4 and 2s bigger initial investment, but finding the replacement parts is so easy, everybody and there mom rolls a WRX at some point it seems. All you need to do is get to know a salvage guy.

I'd say that was a clever comeback, but you would have likely misspelled it too if I hadn't said anything about the misspelling in the first place.
