Ok, I know it's a longshot.. but here goes nothing.

After borrowing Russ's SB-600 for about a month and shooting 2 weddings (just for fun, not professional or anything) I've found the need to have one of these bad boys in my bag. I figured I'd see if anyone was trying to unload one before I go over to west photo or hit up BH Photo Gear.. or that website russ recommended (I can't remember what it's called now).

PM me with what you got and your asking price. Nikon Speedlights only please.

Yeah, i trolled CL. Everyone wants damn near new pricing for a SB-600. SB-800's are impossible to find these days.

Locally I'd only deal with west.. but that's because they've treated me so good in the past. Kyle @ west photo is FTW.

I'll check out KEH and adorama when i get home.

    Thanks Carl.

don't discount national camera. I use them all the time. With multiple metro locations, they see a high volume of used gear.

Eh, I just got mine off of ebay (canon equivalent but whatever). Got a 380EX for $110 shipped that still had the bag, manual, and not a scratch on it.

a 380EX is not really an "equivalent" to an SB-600 by any means.

    (I'm a canon user)

Right, because a TTL flash with 4 batteries, a pivoting head, and a variety of focal length support is so different from another TTL flash with 4 batteries, a pivoting head, and a variety of focal length support.

Anyway, it's entirely off topic. I was just suggesting there is good stuff on ebay. Lots of people buy these for their D60s or whatever, rarely if ever use it, and sell it on ebay.

so by your logic an impreza rs is the same as an sti. 4 wheels, 4 doors, awd, boxer engine

it's in the details. wireless, recycle time, duration, - pretty much everything that makes a flash good is better on the sb-600 (and that holds true for pretty much all nikon flashes compared to canon).

I won't buy photo gear off ebay. if it's used it's coming from either an online store who will take returns (keh, adorma, b&h) or i'm testing it first in person (west photo, nat cam, craigslist). buying used camera gear off ebay is a good way to get burned

I don't know if everyone on ebay just thinks "it's on ebay, it must be a good price!" or what because for the price the **** is going on ebay i might as well just buy new.

Picked up a SB-800 while I was in bozeman from a guy who worked at a camera store. He was asking such a good price I couldn't say no. His reason for selling... He bought a SB-900. Works perfect too.
