Any issues with the original black ones? Found these online http://www.ebay.com/itm/111105136550?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1431.l2649
Almost everyone on LegacyGT.com is leery of the OEM blue since they are made by Honeywell (the maker of Fram). You do realize there is only one OEM black filter in this eBay sale, right? The "Six Star" filters are not Subaru black filters. The blue Subaru filters had a recall recently (I don't recall the details of the markings to look for), so I wouldn't buy any from an unknown source. I just buy OEM blue filters from the local parts department.
$6 for a very solid filter. I am sure you will waste the $2 you save buying a lessor filter on something stupid. Just like you don't buy 87 to fill up your tank to save a buck. Don't cheap out on your cars kidneys.
Just like mobile one that some dealerships use? Just like the stock tunes on the cars? Just like banjo bolts? Seems legit
I doubt dealers using Mobil 1 oil filters have Subaru's full blessings and best wishes. I seem to read about more people having issues with tunes than with people who are stock. I am a firm believer that most banjo bolt screen issues are self inflicted due to poor maintenance. Now on the other hand, I do blame Subaru for oil pick-up and turbo shaft issues, and the idiocy of a catted up-pipe. My point was, I doubt anyone is going to go wrong using a current OEM, Subaru-branded oil filter. Just my opinions, and nothing against tuners or people that choose to use a non-stock tune on a properly modified engine. Every car has some sort of deficiency or compromise when you look close enough, some just are a little more glaring than others. I highly doubt Subaru would choose an oil filter that was going to cause widespread collateral damage.
I disagree. They are proven to be Fram filters with blue paint. This has been discussed ad nauseum already. OP should hunt down better options or just buy Frams from Wal-Mart. They're the same thing.
