I would buy a stock intake too. As long as all of the parts are there.

Would you want to trade? I could ship mine first as I have 4 cars so the WRX can sit for a few days (assuming you would want to ship since I live in se mn like 5 hours away)

I am still not 100% sure I want to trade. I might just want to buy one for now. My issue is the car came with the cobb intake, and it has a slight hesitation, not sure if its tuned, and wanna see if putting a stock intake on fixes the problem. If it does, I'll trade, if it doesn't, I kinda like the noise the Cobb makes. Haha. So that being said, would you wanna sell? If so, how much? Other wise I'll just trade ya, and hope I get the hesitation issue resolved by putting the stock intake on.

How about I send my intake up with jles when he goes back up after thanksgiving then you guys can throw it on your car and if it solves it we could trade otherwise just send the stock intake back with jles? If he's up for that, that is? What else did the car come with? A good indicator if it was modified then returned to stock is a missing heat shield over your downpipe as they are a huge pain to put back on so when returning cars to stock a lot of people just leave it off. Also if you've had to take your battery out and it was tuned, I think the ecu resets itself back to stock but i'm not 100% sure on that. I know with my accessport after I take the battery out I have to reflash it not sure if its the same with a protune.

That could work. But I don't want to have to worry about jles schedule. You could just mail it. If it fixes my problem, I'll send you the Cobb, if not I could just send you the stock one back? Would that be ok?

And I don't seem to notice another sign of things bein modded. I think the Cobb was put on because the passenger side had been involved in a wreck, and that fender has been replaced. My assumption is the oem intake got busted and that who ever wrecked it, found it cheaper to put an aftermarket intake on vs buying a new OEM one.

Alright, let me know what they say. I'd guess $10-$20. So how much would you sell it for if I just wanted to buy it?

I understand. Hears my situation; I want to first fix the slight hesitation I'm getting, and drive the car around for awhile. When I start modding, I like this intake, and not sure if I'm gonna want to buy another when the times comes that I am gonna need one. Wish I knew some peeps that lived closer so I could see if the intake is even the cause of my problem. I'm guessing its not, but I wanted to eliminate all question that it could be, before I start going crazy, and start paying ridiculous prices for a driveability tech to figure it out.

Yeah I'd love to help you out but its like a 5hr driver, I'm sure there's gotta be a bunch of people up there with an 02-07 WRX that'd be willing to let you use their intake for a few hours to diagnose the issue

Someone can chime in if I'm wrong here, but I'm pretty sure the stock intake isn't really a restriction for basic power mods (up through stage II?).

Intake purchased from AWD-ALL THE WAY. Good seller. Met up with me close to home to avoid shipping. Thanks Brent, or was it Brett?

I will. Should be able to get around to putting it on tomorrow. Trying to decide if I want to put the big silencer piece in the fender on or not. Any input or suggestions on that?

Silencer does nothing...it's made to make the spool noise (same one you hear with the aftermarket intake) quieter. If anything its a restirction...I'm sure someone on here could break it down to a science but the noise obviously by the name of silencer haha is all it does.

I wouldn't put that useless thing back in. My suggestion to you would be to get the car tuned. Have you cleaned your MAF Sensor?

I was gonna clan the MAF tomorrow when I put the stock box back on. Then if the hesitation I've noticed goes away, I plan on having a tune done. Probably gonna leave the stock intake on. The Cobb intake just seems like all it does is make noise, and draw in hotter air.

I would keep stock intake and wait til you save up for at least a turbo back exhaust, the downpipe and tune makes the WRX. make sure to invest in a quality dp. I personally suggest invidia divorced wastegate as it worked/is working awesome for me. For now if you want a little extra power and are running stock just unhook your negative battery cable for 30 sec, put it back on, and drive like you're racing for a few miles so the ECU learning will be more aggressive rather than conservative. Also, for the catback section make sure to do your homework on each system to find one that suits what you want. I have the HKS Hi-Power and holy hell is this thing loud and at times annoying on road trips (they make an 85mm silencer for them though but i'm too cheap to buy one)

Thanks, but I picked up a stock one yesterday, kinda thinking I should keep the Cobb for when I start doin mods that actually make a difference besides noise, then put it back on.

Seems alot smoother, but I also noticed the MAF was pretty dirty, so I cleaned it. So who knows which one helped fix the hesitation.

I'll vote for the MAF, but you should have been tuned when running a other than stock intake.

From Tue research I've done, I didn't see much gain with the Cobb SF besides noise. And seemed like it would suck more hot air in. So I didn't see the point of it bein on there.

Your engine bay is like a virgin just waiting to get touched for the very first time...then she's going to become a mod slut and want bigger and better parts...

Haha. No doubt! Plan on getting a "stage 1" tune done soon. Figure that should hold me over till I start getting some high mileage and its time for a rebuild. Then things will get carazay! Just finished getting new plugs in, a timing belt, with idler pulley and tensioner. New tranny and diff fluid. De badged the trunk. And a fresh oil change. So now she's just ready to tune, and drive the crap out of it for a while. The slutting will begin down the road. Lol

For sure, the seller did indeed sell me an intake that was in perfect shape. Haha. Thanks again Brent. My car couldn't be more stock now. Besides the tinted windows. And the Cobb shift knob that came on it. Which everyone knows that's like a 15 HP increase. Lol
