Just like what the title saids. I'm looking for the the subaru front 4 piston brake setup and 2 piston rear.If anyone has a set laying around let me know or anyone at the dealership can get me a price check. John
new they're $600 for the calipers from a dealer. or you can buy reconditioner 30mm Nissan 300zx aluminum calipers (4 -2 ) and kartbot caliper brackets for ~300. They say Nissan, but there cheaper and lighter.
I got my 4 pot subaru front setup with everything except rotors for $570 shipped from KingofParts on www.clubwrx.net
A nissan dealer can sell them to you as the RE-manufactured ones, or you can ebay. But be careful on the ebay and check out this link. As a note, dont buy the nissan rotors, as they are 5 x 114. http://www.princeton.edu/~asad/zbrakes/ you want the 30mm aluminum ones.
every now and again you see a whole bunch of these go up for sale on rs25.com mostly the importers are parting out th JDM GC/GM/GFs and are selling full sets w/ hubs and rotors
it was my understanding that while the caliper body was almost identical to the 06/07/JDM calipers, but the mounting bracket/tabs and bolts are diffrent than the subaru ones, and do not bolt on. i'd be interested in seeing proof of a nissan caliper working though, as i've yet to see it without some custom fabricated bracket.
Ok, i've done some research on this whole subject, and here's my conclusion. 1. The Nissan 300zx calipers ARE NOT direct bolt-on compatible in ANY way. installing these on a subaru will require: 1. New rotors (Thicker and larger, and the available ones will probably have to be custom drilled). the Subaru rotor is 24mm thick, the 300zx calipers are designed to use a 26mm rotor. 2. Caliper mounting bracket. This is not a currently manufactured piece by ANYONE as far as i can see. it needs to be CUSTOM MADE. the Kartboy brackets currently sold are only for adapting the rear WRX 2-pots to the older backing plates. 3. Brake Lines. the 300zx brakes use some sort of press fitting, that is wholly incompatible with a banjo bolt like the Impreza uses. Custom brake lines must be made. While their are companies out there talking of making adapter kits with all of the above included, no one has stepped forth and begun production. If someone is interested in undertaking this endeavor, please keep us updated as I'm still terribly interested. but it seems that anyone without a lot of time and connections on their hands is much better off just sticking to the FHI 4-Pots. ^you are right about the "not bolt on". But, you can use the Kartboy rears mounts, and custom fronts from a machine shop. You can use legacy rotors for the width and diameter, then you're all set. Still cheaper and lighter than subaru.
Nope, 98-01 RS wheels, newer wrx wheels, or sti wheels. (there might be a couple more that I'm forgetting).
Did he try a 3mm? Or was 5mm the only thing he had? Using a 3mm spacer works according to what I read. I'd like to hear from someone who has tried both.

We feel the carbotech pad to be far superior to anything else on the market, certainly worlds over a stock pad. For this reason we will not offer our kit with a cheaper pad. If you would like to use other pads with our kit, I have added a "kit 0" that does not include pads, and adjusted our pricing on the other kits as I would like to see people happy with their purchase. Thanks! - Steven Rankins - Folger Automotive EDIT: Our special on 4pots is over. We do still sell this kit, but please email for pricing: [email protected] Steven Rankins [email protected] edit: We also have 5mm spacers available for using stock wheels. $20 for a set of 4 with the purchase of brake parts That's what my cousin set me but I think 3mm wheels spacers should work too.
