my waterpump seized today, so im in the market to replace something... and due to my desire to upgrade the engine to EJ22 from Ej18, I might as well do it now.. (besides, its easier than a Tbelt  ) also, the bolt for the tensioner on my engine is cross threaded- so if i take it out i may have more than just a waterpump to fix!

so I need a phase 1 EJ22, prefer good strong engine with everything on it minus the PS/AC/ALT if it leaks, its ok I can fix that.. but it needs to have good bearings, ect... and needs to last me long enough to give me time to fix it at a later time....

anyone want to go to U-pull and help pull one out tomorrow???

alternative engines considered (EJ25?) if they will work and be do-able in a day!

thanks a bunch- give me a call if you can point me in the right direction (206) 856-7797 (cell)

man.. too bad i am not in the market for a rusty car.. it doesnt look too bad.. and i would jump on it if i had that kind of money..

so anyways, I am going to go to the U-pull it tomorrow morning, and i could really use some help- or if anyone has a motor to sell, please let me know, cause i would rather help a board member out in that way :)

so far ive got the radiator pulled out, and i am about to take the Tbelt off... (then the waterpump) once all thats out, im gonna see whats at the yard (if there is a good engine to plop in) otherwise, im gonna just have to replace the waterpump.. and tbelt.. and tensioner plate+Bolt+thingys..........

ok.. just got back in from pulling the belt off and all the bearings and waterpump.. turns out that the tensioner bearing is what exploded.. lots of little balls everywhere and the belt skipped a tooth on the crank! (well, it probably did when i took the bolt off the center)

i also checked all the other bearings, and they wouldnt last much longer..

so its either gonna be an engine, or a lot of parts tomorrow!

I've saved all of my old parts from two timing belt jobs. I have 2 water pumps, 2 tensioners and almost all of the idlers, just one out of two cars had gone bad. They're not perfect, but they will run for a while longer. Let me know if you want them, they're just sitting in a box in the basement.

got a motor now.. but still having issues.. if anyone wants to hang out and help me get this conversion going, let me know.. im gonna just get the EJ18 running for now with the used parts off the EJ22 i got today, and then build up the EJ22 and prep it for install when its all done.. but i need the car running for work!

    EJ22 soon! woo!

it would be so much easier if i had a hoist!
