WTB: phaze 2 2.2 heads

yup, single port, sohc, phaze 2!! the ones that look like 2.5 sohc heads. cheap as possible!

 

What happend to your other ones?

i have a whole long block if you're interested.

 

im interested if the price is right...but only in the heads, how much were you thinking?

 

are 97 phase 1? or 2? i got a pair

Those are phase 1. Phase 2 did not start until 99.

 

I think you may be confused as to the phase of the head, and the single or dual port exhaust manifold setup.

Phase 2 started on the impreza's in 99, along with foresters and base model legacy's.

 

^ sorry i was thinkin phase 2 = single port, which happened in 97 for legacys

 

^ 96 2.2ls have single port. as 3riks are single port. 95s are dual port (dual port FTW)

 

i prefer the single port Erik, shoot me an offer i guess i could part out my motor and sell the short block

 

Smaller valves ftl....single port have huge valves in comparison

 

aye.. larger valves but only 1 port for 4 exhuast valves.

they gained 2 hp from going to single port+ bigger valves

 

hey i just wanted to come back to this, i still barley understand this whole phase thing because well, all the info i find seems to contradict each other.

in MY97 for the legacy, the heads got rid of the HVLAs, got larger valves, dropped the egr set up ( i think), and were single ports.... and from other resorces i hear that this is the change to phase 2 heads. now if somebody has some uberchart that shows how all these changes actually correspond to phase number, i would LOVE to look at it.

 

if the heads look like every other 2.2 then they are phaze 1, phaze 2 looks just like SOHC 2.5 heads, MY99+
