So after driving around in the snow with just the stock bulbs in the fog lamps, I'm thinking a yellow bulb only for the winter may help. Does any of our local sponsors carry PIAA bulbs? If so, how much and do you have them in stock?

    Thanks!

lumenitics yellow bulbs on ebay for $20 shipped are a good set-up, I had them on my prelude and they lit up the road well.

You might want to try this:

    http://www.rallylights.com/hella/H3.asp

I've been using the yellow star for quite sometime now, and I love them.

In my opinion they tend to last long then the PIAA and cost much less.

can you run the Replacement H3 Bulb, 12V, 85W, Yellow Star, each $7.33 in the bugeye foglights w/o melting the harness?

I would not recommend doing that...because it will melt your harness.

No, it won't melt your harness. But the additional heat may well oxidize the aluminum coating on the reflector housing eventually resulting in reduced light output. Plus, in a fog lamp, the extra watts are largely wasted anyhow (because the range of a fog is so short, the need for a lot of lumens just isn't there).

    So, don't do it.

If you really want yellow, and want a much better light pattern, order the Hella 500 fog lights in amber from http://www.rallylights.com/hella/500.asp

It will be much more effective that just tossing a yellow bulb (even a Hella or PIAA) into the stock reflector housing.

Get the clear covers though. I've now broken 3 of them. (along with my factory lamps, so maybe it's just me).

I'm told that the mounting brackets they sell aren't a very good fit and require some fiddling. The kartboy ones are a perfect fit, but cost more.

Edit: I've been told that MNSubaru members get a discount (10%?) from rallylights.com, but I've never verified that.

do the late(r) model Impreza's and Legacys share the same fog lights? I'm gonna guess not. I need some yellow fog light bulbs for the LGT myself.

Not exactly what you requested, but I got some nice tungsram selective yellow h3's from http://www.candlepowerinc.com/ way nicer than the stockers.

Ok, i've been looking at those tungsram and read the review from Daniel Stern. I was going to order them but the candlepowerinc.com website seemed a little iffy to me. I e-mailed Daniel about ordering them from him with no answer yet. Has anyone ordered from the candlepowerinc website? Those are the lights i'm going to go with.

Yeah, I ordered my h1's, h3's, and city lights from there. They came in about a week. It was as smooth as possible. I order all of my lights from there from now on. I highly recommend them, when I emailed Daniel Stern he told me to order the lights through them.
