Wondering if anyone knows where to find it locally...or if you could steal some from your child's chemistry set for me. I only need 2 tablespoons.

    Thanks :)

This used to be readily available at a pharmacy back when I worked for an independent. I just checked our (the one my current employer uses) wholesaler's on-line catalog and they list two sizes (4 oz and 16 oz) but neither are stocked at their local distribution center. Cost to the pharmacy for the 4 oz size is $4.09. You could try a pharmacy and see if they stock it (most likely it won't me out front on the shelf) or could order it for you.

My friend has a crank I can borrow, but I am allergic to bananas, so I ended up going with another recipe that used a more readily available pink salt ;)
