If you can't find one cheap contact me, I work at Eriks Bike Shop and we have everything you need. another option is to buy a nice board/boot bag and throw it in the back seat.
The problem is that i have a sub in the truck so i will not be able to use the pass through. I want to later use it as a bike rack too. how much a new one would be? Thanks, Taras
:lollol:Taras, I'm much better than Chet at snowboard equipment and the Eden Prairie store is much cooler than chet's Maplgrove store. kidding chet:biggrin:
Don't steal my sale Dave, always like you to do that! Taras price wise, I just priced out the basic w/o fairing (yet really nice setup) and it came out to be $443 retail but like I said if you wanna stop by we can talk. Also if you ride bike its the same deal just need trays. Chet
A. you don't need to use the trunk. Throw it in a bag and angle it in the back seat. No worries:biggrin: That's why I do...cheaper and IN the car. B. You can get a nice roof snowboard/bike rack, but it will cost ya
http://yakima.com/Consumer/Step4.aspx Here ya go I'll actually be at Eden Prairie from 1 to 8 tomorrow and Maple Grove 10 to 8 Friday.
Ohh mister I only work to get the discount, stand back and let the grown ups talk!:biggrin:
Come in and we can talk, really I'm not gonna give out prices over the internetz cause then everyone and their bro would be in my face for boards boots bikes you name it.
Good luck getting a roof rack for under that, they hold there value really well. Also most times when you have one, you don't wanna get rid of it. Plus if you get a new car all you need is new clips, but I believe the 02-07 are all the same.
Then you're looking for the bag in the car route. Racks are pricey. I pieced my Yakima setup off Ebay last year for around 350 or so. That was for Q towers, bars, clips, fairing and a big powder (all with locks). You might be able to get cheaper then that but it isn't going to be by much.
I have a Yakima setup on my old Bimmer with the yakima snowboard holder that can hold 4 snowboards. How hard would it be to get new clips to mount it to the WRX? Taras, if the clips work out, I will sell you what I have.
I am going to swing by my parents house this weekend and I will try to get some details on the rack for you and some pics. I will also try to come up with a price. I wasn't planning on selling it, but I saw your post and it came to mind. I will get back to you on Monday when I get back into town. If I don't, shoot me a PM and remind me. Cool?
You score the Yakima feet and bars and I'll make you a deal on the ski/board holder than holds up to 6-pr of skis or 4 boards. I get all my stuff from www.ageebike.com - consistently the best prices and service for this stuff. I used to be a Yakima person but converted to Thule for their superior bike-related stuff.
Subaru = Yakima, Volvo = Thule. IMO and selling both of them, along with Saris I still think Yakima's products are #1.
That's why you are hopelessly conflicted my liege. The full bike solutions that Thule acquired from Sportworks are best in class - roof or hitch mounted. No dirty wheels in-cabin or thru-axle forks to fuss with at the trail head. The Thule low-profile roof rail mounted feet are superior to the Yak's in terms of mounting and ease of on/off. I know, I still own both. Also, Thule is more progressive about their bar mounted gear fitting both round and square bars..Yakima tends to be more exclusive and less flexible in that respect. Finally, the Thule bars have not corroded and deformed as easily as the Yak bars.
