I've got a set of 205/60/r15's with a set of steelies. The steelies will fit a bmw or mercedes, but you could always just go pick up a cheap set of steelies. I'll let'm go for 150.

They are blizzak ws-50, probably 550 for the set of them new. these have one winter on them. PM me if interested.

they are in great shape. I just picked up a set of tires for my 16's, so I wont need these.

I didnt notice that you have an sti. Just so you know, the tires are equivelent to a 205/55R16 in diameter, which is why i bought them, they would have fit my 2.5rs. They wouldnt be much smaller than your 17's with snows so the diameter wouldnt be too far off. their cheap and would definately get you through snow.

Guess I should have been more specific, 225/45/r17 is the size I need to fit the stock rims.

Most 16" will not clear the Brembo brakes (maybe none, I don't know for sure). I had some steel wheels that were 16" and they were not even close to clearing. If you look at an STi even the 17" can be close.

Craigslist there is a set I saw about 2 weeks ago. 225/45/17's I believe they were blizzaks.

Another option is just run to discount tire. They have some pretty sick deals going on right now.

Still think you should buy my Arctic Alpins for $100 and just buy some used or cheap wheels :)

$25 per tire? Can't go wrong.

I just got my winter tires on my 02 WRX wagon's OEM rims.

I had thought I was going to get the Firestone 'house' tire called Winterforce 205/55r16's. (my previous Ford Contour FWD ran w/ steel rims and Michelin Arctic Alpins, which were great)

Instead, the car was shod with the tire brokers equal option called WINTERMARK, MAGNAGRIP. I can really feel the drag of these tires and the sound, so I hope we get our snow and ice conditions soon.

My previous Michelin Arctic Alpins had a noticeable whistle in the wet.

Anyone else running tires like these? It's too early for me to comment on Wintermark yet.
