I have convinced myself that all the ERZ (and probablly other brands too) up pipe's alignment tolerances are horrible and will give you a good chance of having either exhaust leaks or downpipe rubbing. They solved their poor manufacturing process with a flexible joint. But I guess what do you expect for $65-75. I think the OEM parts are very well built and tolerances are on the nuts. I compared two stock up pipes I have and they are exactly the same. (meaning the turbo stays in the same spot) I only hope my ERZ downpipe is close to straight.

Anyone have a gutted WRX up pipe or an STI up pipe? I will pay cash and pick it up.

I also have 2 catted up pipes and an ERZ up pipe for sale =)

    Thanks,
    Chad

Try a Bosal UP! Rumor mill has it that they make the factory one. If you laid mine down next to the factory one you probably couldn't tell the difference.

Not had any issues since it was installed!

I think you can have good results but I am not impressed with how off the flanges are when compared to stock. I don't want to deal with leaks etc. I have test fit two ERZs myself and they were both quite a bit off. My guess is that all the people that buy the 5 layer gaskets and use a special tightening sequence are compensating for the poor tolerances. But if it works it works I suppose.

    WRX1, I'll take it!
