Ill be the first to be honest with you, its probably not going to happen. I bought my black bug eye stock...but upon closer inspection it had already had a turboback put on it. This is even though the seller said there had been no performance mods. It will be very difficult to find a used WRX from the 02-03 range that TRULY never had mods on it.
I see plenty of WRXs driven by older people/women/etc who obviously just bought the car for the Subaru reputation of a safe, economical, AWD vehicle and are not "enthusiats" in the least bit. More likely to find one of those sitting on a dealer lot somewhere than on an internet forum. Boards like this represent a pretty small percentage of cars sold in the grand scheme of things.
I've got a completely stock 02 WRX in black. It's a wagon though. And if I were to sell it, I wouldn't be cutting any kind of a deal. KBB is about 14k on it, I'd have to see at least that much to consider selling.
good luck with this... seriously.. I mean thats like Ray wanting to be hung like John Holmes instead of like PEE WEE herman...
ANo, it's not that hard. You just need to find a car that wasn't owned by a kid. Most people who are 30+, even if they love their cars and the performance, aren't going to muck with the car too much. It's going to be easier to find wagons that aren't messed with, simply because the functionality of a wagon appeals to an older crowd too (like me). Thing is, this is a terrible place to look, since the people here are generally enthusiasts, which are the most likely people to mod a car. Mine is stock (drivetrain) as of now, but then again, there is a nice 3" stainless TBE sitting in the hatch as I write this. Not being installed right away, but eventually it probably will be (not going to tear it all apart until I have an UP to do at the same time). And of course I've got the full Primitive skidplate setup, and a 2M radio, and 4 sets of wheels, and I'm looking as suspensions in the next 6 months (stock shocks are in sad, sad shape). But I'm never going to go wild on the mods, and I'll be able to put it all back to stock relatively easily.
why not? afraid of the extra usefulness? the lower insurance payments? are wagons just not teh manly enough for you?
how much are you looking into spending on the car? if you really want stock, go for new! or keep searching
whats not to like? the fact that it has a different face? or the fact that it has more tq then the 2.0, not to mention potential
cuz i think its ugly the end and carls right, put some money down on one today......... going to pick it up wednesday
