Last season my car has been blowing more smoke than previous, so the seals are probably going. Need a replacement stock turbo, lower mileage and less boost = better. 75k of autox abuse appears to have taken a toll. And before this turns into a whole thread of "get an upgrade", "i have a (insert aftermarket turbo here) i could sell.." i'm not interested. The car is built to a specific class for SCCA AutoX, and it's going to stay there.. even the next class up mandates a stock turbo.
Pretty sure i have one in my garage you can have for cheap. Not sure on mileage but will look into it.
To be honest i dont even know what car it came off of! Ill call up the last few people i swapped turbos for and find out though.
Honestly, i probably will have the original one rebuilt down the road as a spare. What's the rebuild cost one lately? I thought historically they were a better deal to just get a good condition used one as a rebuild was 300+
What up Stig!? I was told that a rebuild kit could be had for around $200. I have one in the garage, but it's also do for a rebuild, and went through a flood. Priced right tho and mileage is prolly around 110-120k.
I'd check with MTC (Midwest Turbo Connection in WI) or MAP as they are both churning out a lot of turbo's these days. A rebuild may run $300 or so, but then you are looking at 0 miles versus xx,xxx miles.
yeah i wanna sell it lol it just sitting on my shelf in my room, not to much shaft play but yeah 1dk 140$
