WTB Summer Tires 215-225 45 R17

Looking for summer tires to fit my stock 17 x 7 rims. 2005 Saab 9-2x Aero WRX. Spec is 215, but I've read here that 225 fits as well. Possibly rims too, if not too pricey.

225 is the way to go if you can. A little more contact patch and a tad more sidewall make a difference.

 

Can deff fit 225 on the wheel. depending on tire brand you could fit 235 as well.

I have my stock set of tires 235/17/45r with about 7k miles on them if you are interested. Drove them the summer i bought them and never put them back on. PM me and i can get you pics

 

I think they are the Dunlop Sports, would just need to see if they fit your set up obv.

 

Most shops won't mount tires that are 10 years old.

I saw those. Very tempting, but I was concerned with the 07 mfg date(?)

 

Depending on which Sport they are, TireRack reviews seem favorable. I don't know if 235 would fit on my 7" rims without crowning. I'll research.

 

I might be considering getting stock 17's. If I do, I'll have my Kosei setup for sale.

Light gray/silver
235-45-17 Bridgestone Potenza Re970 tires ~8/32"
5x100 with 56.1 hub centric rings.
Might include the wheel lock/lug nuts.

Fair warning, had to roll the back fenders on my 03 wagon for the 235's to clear with this setup.

But just in case you come across another set they are SP Dunlop Sport 01s.

 

I have some 225/45/17 Dunlop direzza z1 with 4-5/32 left, best offer.
