like the topic reads, I'm looking for suspension for my 94 impreza.. I need it bad. As many of you saw at firestone this past friday, I'm riding on springs only and it's scary. Any suggestions on waht to go with? or if anyone has something available...great. Chris
something good for street...not too stiff but good lowered height, MAY HAVE rubbing with wider rims; KYB GR2 struts/Eibach Prokit. Something a little stiffer but not too bad....KYB AGX/P1 springs Something about the same as KYB AGX/P1 springs are the KYB AGX/H&R springs. Something stiffer than that and for track use: KYB AGX/STi Tarmac springs (set KYB AGX to 3/4 or MAX damper setting) or simply some GR2 struts and RS springs....
not bad options, but for your last one i'd do Koni's and STI Tarmac springs. you can have koni's valved to the spring rates of the tarmacs with a phone call to koni before they even send them to you and you'll have a damn nice setup.
ya, I wonder.....I HAVE looked at the Koni inserts before...seems to be a nice deal. I need someone's dead Subaru Shocks...ahahh or...pick up some one's DEAD subaru shocks.....then the Koni inserts...some work though...whew... have them valved for 300lbs springs....should be just perfect. (tarmacs are 286front, 274 rear I believe) But setting the AGX to 3/4 is works well with 270lbs rates, then max setting is good for 320lbs rates....this is based on the 93-01 2.5RS springs.
fuji: you should have let me known you were loking for dead subie shocks. i just tossed all four of mine. they even had no fluid in em so they would be easier to work on. keep in mind Dupes car is FWD. i have heard that the rear struts have different mounting points, so AWD ones would need moding to fit right. in sight of this i dont think i have seen fwd sets of agxs.
