Ok so after some deep thinking I have chosen to keep the brighton. This is what I need for the brighton.

1 set of KYB struts adjustables.

rs front bumper, head lights, gc grille, and and an L hood so a non scooped and vented hood.

This is a leap but I would like a ez30r long block.

    Please pm with any details.

Yeah I will need help with the harness and I dont have an engine "puller" either. So Do you still live in mound cause my parents live there. Though Tom I don't know how much enigne pulling we will be doing...:yumyum:

I know torque city. I am unsure what kind of tranny I will use(PPG or 6spd) so it should be fun.

I think for the 6 speed they only have the dog box so daily driving wouldn't be the best...

talk to dao. His H-6 swap worked great. I think someone like chux might be able to help you out with the wiring harness. if he cant, dao knows a company that will do it, as he had someone do his.

^Yeah I was planning on asking chux. I was under the impression dao's swap was a eg33, but yeah the swap doesn't seem that much more intensive then my other choice(ej22t) so I am really excited.

if he was going to boost it this would be a good idea. I highly doubt he would ever boost it.....

Its Tom Wright he graduated a year before me. I love you Tom.

Also in regards to the eg33 swap I really don't want to be cutting core supports and stuff like that, plus I love my ac. Boost I am not so sure about that. The reason i am doing the h6 swap is because I want to see how much power I can make with out boost.

more like EJ22e + 2 cylinders + 2 cams. the EG is closer to the 22e than the 22t.

dao's impreza is an EG33, and he did hire someone to do the wiring......me ;)

problem with the EG33 is it's size, both physical dimensions and weight. with some work (removing A/C, relocating battery, etc.) you can get some of that back....but definitely less than ideal.

EZ30DR is a whole different animal wiring-wise. I want very badly to run an EZ30DR someday, so I follow these builds pretty closely. The short version is, stock ECU is essentially not possible due to immobilizer and DBW stuff.

hydra can run the motor, but with open loop AVCS control.....cool, but less than ideal.

if you really plan to run an EZ30DR. the Link Plus G3 can do it with closed loop AVCS and a cable TB (adapter plate or custom intake mani....). or wait a bit and the G4 can run it with the DBW TB.

get a napkin before clicking here:

or, take a step down, and use an EZ30D. quite a bit simpler, since they use a cable TB, and no AVCS or AVLS. get yourself a salvage early '00s Outback with the 6-cyl (~$5-8k). and you'll have pretty much everything you need. AND bigger/better brakes, etc.

long story short. the EG33 is much more boost-friendly (especially with the management options available through ECUtune!!). but for N/A power.....the EZ is an awesome option. the swap isn't any harder than a 4-cyl swap (and probably easier than some of the more complex turbo swaps!), similar power, and much better torque.

also, in a lighter car (like a GC...), the EZ30D is still in that power-range where a somewhat careful driver could use a 5MT pretty reliably. but an EZ30DR would require some serious babying or a 6MT.

also.....EZ30R isn't the engine code. it's EZ30DR. just because they put 3.0R on he trunk doesn't mean it's got an EZ30R, just like the base imprezas of the last few years don't have EJ25i engines.

or....skip it all and do it right. EZ36D FTW!!!

Wait em can I run on a ez30d? Can you merge them? I have heard that I can keep my ac with a ez, is this true? And what the balls is a ez36d; stroker kit?I really want to run high comp NA motor, is there any good builds that I could read up on? Do you think that I can reach some decent power goals(230 whp) with the ez30d?

for the EZ30D, stock ECU would be just fine, and easy. but any standalone could run it I bet.

    EG33: Horsepower 230@ 5400 rpm
    Torque: 228 @ 4400 rpm
    EZ30D: 212 horsepower @ 6,000 rpm
    # 210 lb.-ft. of peak torque @ 4,400 rpm
    # 174 lb.-ft of torque @ 2,200 rpm
    EZ30DR: 250@6000rpm, torque 219@4200rpm
    EZ36D (factory '08 tribeca motor, dual AVCS, 3.6l): 256@6000rpm, torque 247@4400rpm

    (all numbers from cars101.com)

I bet you could keep your A/C. I don't know if an EJ compressor would bolt up to an EZ engine, but worst case scenario, you use the EZ compressor and have some custom lines made to mate to your EJ system (that is only if the EJ lines don't work with the EZ compressor.....)

those numbers aren't entirely correct... and i am not splitting the hairs with you on this, but its closer to the 22t.

    they're pretty close.....like I said. cars101.com.

essentially only differences between 22e and 22t are the deck, pistons, injectors and oil/coolant lines for the turbo. the EG is open deck, high compression, and N/A......

That video of the H6 sounds a lot like an Audi S4 with the V8 engine... Some dude at my building has one, and parks it outside. It sounds mean... makes me feel a bit better about leaving the STi outside without a garage.
