anyone have any wheel/tires they are getting rid of? im looking for maybe stock subaru wheels with allseasons. anything better than these really slippery azenis im on right now.

or if anyone is willing to let go of some 17in tires that would be cool too.
but im not looking for anything special. just something cheap to get me through the winter and so i can stop when i come to red lights

well thats not quite as wide as i would have liked.... i was looking for something closer to 225/45-17 idk how well that will fit or if the sidewalls would be too stretched. but im no tire wiz

im interested though. how much tred life is there? would it make it through a dry but kinda snowy winter?

I'm rolling on them right now on 17x7" '08 wrx wheels. Tread is probably around 60%. Not great, but you can't complain when you are getting tires on the cheap.

Honestly, they are pretty ****ty on ice but they are much better than frozen hockey puck summer tires. Back when I put my Hankook RS2s (very similar to Azenis) on 2 years ago, I was lucky enough to get to drive with 'em after that blizzard we had in the spring. Talk about sphincter tightening, hahaha.

I'm thinking about pulling the Nexens off and getting a bit higher quality all season tire to replace them.

yeah i was on nexens last winter and they did alright in the snow. stopping wasnt too bad either. these falkens are like death i swear lol. im afraid of driving now. but i still need to see how well a 215 will work on my wheels.... carl how wide are they again i keep forgeting

Anything over a 7.5" rim, and a 215 tire will probably be too narrow.

I have some all season with about half life left. I will let them go for 60 for all 4. wall of tv's or subytek can maybe chime in on what make and model they are. I forgot and dont feel like going to the garage unless you are interested.

what does brakes have anything to do with him needing tires. come on now. and if you were going to say he has good brakes that is irrelavent when you have a summer tire floating across snow. if thats of course what your getting at.

wrx wheels wont fit over them. but rs wheels will.

essentially he has to be careful on what wheel he buys so he does not buy a set that wont work and get stuck with them.

let me know if you want the tires I have...

mikem i will be taking the 215/45 17 all season tires of the 06 wrx wheels i have within a week or so... they have well enough tread for you to make it to spring, thats for sure.

the best part is, you can have them for free!

for future reference...my summer tires are 215/45r17s on a 17x8 wheel. they fit just fine, and don't even look stretched.
