Well, the viscous coupler on my transmission is giving me some trouble. So, depending on price/condition I'd be interested in the following.

    - 3.9 manual transmission.
    or
    - 4.111 manual transmission and matching rear diff, vlsd rear diff a plus.

Transmissions would need to have good syncros and diff.

    - or just a center diff with a good viscous coupler.

    thanks,
    Joel

lol.. well, the car is still driveable now, I just can't do sharp turns after the transmission gets hot. It was binding really bad this weekend after a few hours on the freeway, then after I let it sit for a few hours, it was fine.

I have a center diff with a good viscous coupling that I am willing to part with. I'll just have to pull it off the broken transmission it's attached to. It's off a '96 Impreza L tranny with ~170K miles on it. Lets just say the price will be very low. PM me if you want it.

Yeah, you're right about the center diff. The diff itself is still functioning fine, I'm just being lazy with my wording, sorry. I do get some decel noise from the transmission, but that's probably the tailshaft bearings. Anyway, binding viscous unit + annoying syncros + noisy bearings is why I would consider a buying a whole transmission as well.

Well, from what I'm reading on nasioc is seems the center diff is different pre-99 and 99+. The whole housing is swappable, but not the internals.

So, my car is a 2000. I guess I'd need a 99+ center diff + viscous unit (not sure if the viscous unit is seperate on 99+), or the whole housing for pre 99.

Please let me know if this isn't accurate. Thanks.

The center diff and one whole unit w/ the viscous LSD. If ONLY I didn't weld my '99 one then it would have been just fine. hahahhaa You want the welded one? j/k

really simple swap. I wonder if I should go for my CUSCO center diff.... take mine out for you...lolz RWD POWERz for temp! hahaha or FWD...lolz

Yeah, RWD would be fun for the summer, you still have the front axle stubs too?

Bump. I have a few options so far, but I'd still like to find a center diff from a 99 or newer transmission. Or a complete working transmission. Thanks.
