I'm taking the dive into upgrading the turbo on my 2005 Stage 2 WRX. Send me a PM if you've got any parts available.

you really might want to further plan which turbo you want, what size injectors are good for it, what type of intercooler works best for that turbos application and have a game plan so you know what you're buying works well together.

What are your WHP goals? SSAC ebay TMIC name brand one? how much lag do you want? want to do external wastegate while you're messing with everything? fuel pump is easy enough, might as well just get a new walboro 255 with how cheap they are and avoid problems with a used one.

mainly the things will sort themselves out when you figure out which turbo you want and what kind of power levels you desire.

I've got this problem. Every time I spend money on adding more power to my car, I think to myself that I'm done. I've got enough power. Then I get on this damn message board and become obsessed with MORE, MORE, MORE.

Which turbo? Good questions, Esperunit. I've been thinking about a used VF39 to save some cash, approriately sized injectors from WRX1, new walbro sounds good, and a TMIC from ebay. Top it all off with a tune and then, hopefully, I'm done spending money for more power. But we all know how it goes...

I've read a few DIY threads on installing a turbo and injectors. Looks like I could probably handle all the work myself, at least 90% of the work. But I'm a little nervous about what type of mess I'm getting myself into. How hard is it for a newbie to get the injectors/turbo installed?

    Thanks team.

I don't want to ever mess with the injector brackets on a WRX (green brackets of death)

sounds like a vf39, ebay SSAC TMIC are what you're planning. Probably better off getting a new one of those IC's since they don't come up used here often and are so cheap to start with. There are a few people on this board who have them and the last one I saw in person looked nice. You'll need an STi splitter and shroud and maybe an STi hoodscoop (for the MY06+ you dont need to upgrade the scoop) as well as a y pipe and throttle body hose that will fit. there is a little guide on nasioc with a whole parts list of stuff to buy, with the TMIc it comes to about $300 for a lot of people.

Used vf39's are easy to find. Just search here and a few other sites and you'll come up with one.

Anybody want to install a VF39 and Injectors (yet to purchase both) into my WRX? Price? I'll do the pump and IC myself.

Well I've purchased an almost new VF39 off ebay for $350 shipped and a fuel pump from sogonerg. Still need injectors and TMIC. I'll keep you posted T-rex on the project.
