As the title says I am looking to buy some Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethelyne. Does anyone know of a place locally who sells this stuff or can get it? I am looking for a sheet, possibly in the 4'x8' dimensions. Looking for 1/4" thickness, but 3/16" will work also.

I can get sheets here in fargo if you can't find anything. I have also been looking at under controlarm/lateral flexible protection.

I used to work next to this place in Shakopee- Mid America Plastics. They had all kinds of stuff laying around. From All kinds of plastic to acryllic, to 1.5" thick Lexan that can take a 30-06.

Oh ya, I know Anne and Tony. I graduated with Andy. I worked at BLS in high school and we did a bunch of embroidery for Tony when he was hot on the Contain clothing line.

So do you work for A-Scape? I thought Iheard the Newman's got out of it?

I hate to throw this off-topic, but did anyone else snicker at how obscure the thread title is?

It might as well have read, "WTB: sdlkjewljsdflj043r-sk3843j@@!kd."

    :p

yeah the title is obscure but people got the idea.

I agree that black is the color to get. I have lead on a place in CA, but I would prefer to buy local since i dont want to hassle in shipping this stuff. The place in CA wants ~$40 for a 2'x4' sheet of black in 3/16".

Piddster: do you still have connections at mid america? i checked out their website and it doesnt look like they sell raw material to the public.

Colin: any clue how much the stuff is going for up there?

I'll check, The last time i got some stuff they just gave me a bunch of reasonable sized scraps. I only needed some 2 x 3 for what I'm trying. I'll ask tommorrow.

I just walked in there and said I worked next door and asked if they had any scraps of lexan or acrylic. If Matt works at A-Scape, maybe he could stop in and talk to them.
