I am looking to buy atleast a downpipe and possibly an uppipe for my 06' Legacy GT Spec B and I am also looking for a mechanic who likes to work for beer/soda and pizza. Any suggestions on brands or takers for the mechanic duties?

Brands are in the eye of the beholder. Everyone will have different suggestions!

You looking for catted or catless?

Also, I have been told that it really isn't necessary to buy an uppipe for my car but the downpipe is the main thing that is restricting. Is there any truth in this and what is the advice of you "professionals" out there?

well the spec b is like the sti of legacy's...so i think the uppipe is already catless...so yes just a downpipe should do...

Are the catless ridiculously loud? I am looking for a less restrictive setup but I don't need a rumble car. That's what my honda is for.

Well maybe next time I am in San Antonio I will have to look you up. And I will look for one of those two you suggested and let you know what I come up with. Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.

He is just talking about running a downpipe not a full exhaust?

I had a lgt with the stock cat back and a cobb catless dp It was hard to notice the difference over the stock setup. Here is some info on what I was running.

Bikerboy, are you saying it was hard to notice the noise or notice the power over the stock with a new downpipe and the stock exhaust? I have an AP and would want to jump that up to stage 2 when I did it.

I'm positive he means the noise level. Stage 2 power will make it feel like a whole new car

^^^Sorry, I forgot you were a douche and had something smart to say about everything anyone says. My honda is already too loud and I wouldn't like the same thing out of my Subaru. Power is achievable without ridiculous amounts of noise and that is my goal.

Yes I am saying you will notice virtually no change in the noise level with the downpipe. You will notice a change in power. The torque will increase the most, the horsepower will not increase as much as it is a function of flow. With the stock cat back on my car I estimated that I was loosing 30-50 hp.

If you need someone to install it and tune it for you you can call RS motors in the shops links and ask for Matt.

Am I going to need to get a cat back exhaust as well? I heard that the LGT exhausts were just fine with running the stock turbo and like I said, I want it as quiet as possible. And as far as RS Motors goes, I had a bad experience with them when they were located in St. Paul and they never remedied the problem...........
