Assuming you have a 2.0L wrx, you'll need a lot more than a vf22 to hit 300-340whp. Or a very liberal dyno. Something like a 20g might do it if you can handle the lag. If you have a 2.5L (06-07wrx) you might possibly be able to get those numbers with a vf22, but an 18g or 20g would be a better investment. you'll have to upgrade the tranny too among other supporting mods. Look on nasioc.com for a good used turbo. Usually you'll find what you're looking for there, but you might have to wait and then jump on it if its a good deal
i have a 2.0 I have been told by a couple subie people that a vf22 should get me to about 300 on e85, i could be wrong tho, for some reason i thought a vf22 was bigger than a 18g and 20g... i am now wrong lol
The VF22 was only stock on the 22B and I believe one iteration of the STi in japan back in the late 90s. Otherwise, it was never stock on a legacy.
Yup. It was stock on the first 100 22b's and came stock on the late 1996 ver3 jdm sti and ver2 wrx iirc. p20 exhaust housing, larger compressor housing (48mm?) and wheel. Some fitment issues with the top coolant line rubbing some intercoolers... similar to an 18g.
Thanks 4 roughin me up. I'm going to give you guys a call in a bit here. And Kevin, what kind of whp are you running now with the booze?
