As the title states. No real preference of one over the other. Prefferably not cracked, but whatever... Have one? Let me know!
Dare I ask how long one would wait for the boost to come on with the 2.0? Oh, wait, this is when you tell me to just get a 2.5...
I think you would be surprised. A GT30R with the smaller hotside (.63) would spool faster than Evan's 20G   But really, if I had a 2L WRX, the 30R would be my top choice
Meh, I would rather blow the motor first. What fun is a 2.5 on a TD04??? Besides, I'm confident the car will last a while with the larger snail. The compression isn't bad. I don't drive the car as hard as others. Plus I'm pretty diligent on the fluids and changes. Which is why its @ 140k on stage II:biggrin: Kind of looking at 18g's now. I see a few on nabisco.
Heh yeah. But I don't want to get all crazy with rotated turbo's. Gotta keep my wallet somewhat healthy, not waif like:biggrin: Plus, I have a wedding(ie funeral, mine) coming up in 6 months, gotta save for that:emo: I think going with a 18g will be a good start. If its blows it blows and then I have a pretty good base turbo untill I can afford the big daddy turbo...
Or when you register for the wedding...register at Kartboy,Cobb,Tein,etc.,etc. Car parts for wedding gifts, FTW!!!:rockwoot:
Yeah, why is it always chick gifts that are on the registry? Real silverware, tea sets, towel holders... Real men use a steel fork and a sharp knife, a cozy for their beer, and a doorknob for the towel! That's why I gave Tom money. Come to think of it, maybe I should have given him more!
Tool boxes, car parts, that's what I'm talkin' about! Paper plates are just fine! And by the way,I think Matt is still looking for a turbo!! Bump!

Look at it this way...a faster car means more chances of success trying to escape from the wedding. Have it idling outside in neutral with the e brake up and the door open. If you decide to run, it's ready
Ok, on your turbo choice, go with the 16g evoIII or the db monster 16g. The db `6g will spool about 3-400 rpms sooner and will put out about the same hp. If you are looking bigger, get a 20g. I totally regret getting my 18g. Don't get me wrong, it has made me happy for 3 years, but between the spoolup and the power output it is kinda a waste. The 18g will spool about the same as a 20g (with a good tune) and put down alot more power. Russ
So whats your biggest beef with the 18g? The lag or over all power output? When do you see your powerband? I really just want usable DD power, not a dyno queen. I drive it too much to have a big laggy turbo. Which is orignally why I wanted an old reliable VF series. But then looking at what some others say on nabisco, the lag isn't too much later G vs.VF and the power output is larger. 18g that is and I know the upgrade bug will hit soon after going 30/34/39. The 18g might hold that off longer... But, a member pm'd me with a VF39 so I will probably use that untill summer when Tom could tune for a 18/20g anyways. OT, what size injectors would you recommend? Oversized for future proofing if I upgrade to a 18/20g this summer. Wouldn't also happen to have a set lying around would you?
Nothing really wrong with it, but the power output between the 16 and the 18 are really close (probably within 20whp) and the 16g will spool 2-400 rpm sooner. now between the 18-20 the 20 will put down probably 25-40 more than the 18, and only spool 2-300 rpm later. So the 18 is good, but it is just kinda middle of the road. If you are looking for good spool, I would go with the 16g and your power output is almost as good as the 18. if you are looking for more power and can live with the extra lag (read 5-700 rpm more), the 20g will throw down alot more power. I also have the 4eat in my car, so my 18g spool time doesn't really matter to much, and I now know that I could have run a 20g and it wouldn't have changed anything but my power output. As for injectors, I am running 630cc and at 21-22psi my idc's are right around 90-91%. I may have a set of 660's sitting here, I just need to figure out if the other guy is actually going to get them or not. Russ
