you want a MY 2001.5 or 2002. Previous model years had certain issues they fixed later

Or as my friend with an s4 put it, for $800 you can buy a chip that gives you 15%HP. after that, everything little thing costs over $1000

 

Buy an evo or sti. Cheaper to fix and much fast when modded.

You should look harder. And I agree, STI or EVO unless you like maintenance and repairs.

try www.audiguys.net esperunit is right...extremely high maintenance and upgrade costs. try pricing an aftermarket warranty for the car too. I almost bought a 2001.5 S4. The cost of ownership scared me away.
