WTB winter / snow tires, 16"

Looking for a set of four 16" winter / snow tires, something like 205/55/16 or 195/60/16. Must have good amount of tread left, like 9-10/32+. No 6+ year old tires please.

Thanks Curry, I may have on a line on another set from CL right now - I'm trying for cheaper than the ones you listed, at the moment I've already got a set of 16" wheels, just need tires...

 

Check Discount tire- they've got a few good 205-55-16 snows for pretty cheap.

107/ea for General Altimax Arctics
125/ea for Nokian Hakka R2's
129/ea for BS Blizzak WS80 (brand new design for 2014, untested)

If you buy used, be sure to check the DOT number for their age- older than 4 years they lose a bunch of grip in my experience.

 

Also pick up a tire depth gauge. Once dedicated winter tires start getting below 6/32, they will loose most of their performance and work about as good as an all season.
Give a shout to Justin Tilus of Vision Speedworks, he may be able to get you into some new tire with mounting for that price.

 

It's too bad General started raising prices. Those same tires were under $70 a few years ago.

Discount Tire Direct does $100 off sets of 4 on a semi-regular basis if you are not in a rush. It makes a new set almost as low as what a good used set goes for.

 

Is it just me or does these rims look like fake sti rims? Notice how the "lines" from the spoke goes all the way into the center past the lug nut section
