Well, I should soon have the extra money to get some new rims

    I'm looking for ither

-Set of (4) XT alloys with or without tires
-Set of (4) WRX alloys with or without tires
-Set of (4) RS alloys etc.
    -Set of (4) "S" alloys

Heck, any wheels your looking to sell, drop me a pm and I'll think about it

I'll pay for all shipping costs, assuming I can't find any locally

Center caps are reqired.. don't feel like going to the dealship and paying
    so much for them.

I'm looking for ballpark of 200-250 only rims for XT or WRX

    With tires I'd say 300-350

I'm looking around other forums too.. so I'll keep you guys posted if I find
    any elsewhere.

    Any options I'll consider..

If my pricing is off or you think I could get them cheaper.. let me know :)

    TTT

Still partially looking, the WRX wheels just don't seem to look right on the forester

A few on subaruforester.org, but none close enough for pickup

I will probally end up paying for shipping, but thats alright too.

Just wish that shipping wouldn't cost about half of the cost of the wheels :eek4:

    Interested in aftermarket wheels?

I've got a set of 4 Tenzo-R Mean-6 wheels with decent-condition but low-end Ziex tires on them. 17-inchers. Some curbage, no bends.

They're not the right offset for a Suby, but they're such low-profile tires (smaller overall diameter than stock) that there weren't any rubbing issues on a GC Impreza.

The good news is, though, I'd let 'em go for cheap. They're just sitting around in my garage since I opted to revert to stock wheels.

Where are you at? And what would you want for all 4...

Btw.. why did you go back to the stockers?

What is the offset of these?

(side note: SVX rims have an 114.3" bolt circle, no? those won't fit most other Subies)

    Details on the Mean-6 set:
    Tenzo-R Mean-6, silver
    17x7" ET42 (offset)
5x100 and 5x114.3 dual bolt patterns
some curb rashes (one big&ugly) but no bends
Tuner lugs REQUIRED (crappy chrome set w/lock included)

    Details on the tires:
    Falken Ziex ZE-502
    205/40 ZR17
    http://www.vulcantire.com/ze502_t.htm

Dunno how to measure treadwear, but these definitely have a few good summers left in them. They're clearly directional performance tires and I wouldn't use them in snow even if they were brand new.

They came on the car when I bought it (along with stock rims without tires), but I'm not a fan of 17" or bigger wheels, especially on such a tiny car.
Also, the 42mm offset is a full centimeter off from the optimal value, for 7" wide wheels. This puts them out closer to the outside of the wheelwell, which looks good, but for all the miles I plan to put on mine, I'd rather avoid the extra wheelbearing stress. (But it's ONLY a centimeter, so they're not going to hang out like a tacky lowrider or anything)

The low-pro tires and aggressive dished look would definitely emphasize the "S" in an "SUV". But you'll notice a stiffer ride, and your speedo will be off a bit, with those 40-series tires.

I was thinking the $400 neighborhood for price. If someone drove down to Rochester (1.5hrs from the Cities) to pick 'em up, I'd take $300 without much arm-twisting. I wouldn't want to drag them all the way up to the Cities without some kind of nonrefundable deposit.

I haven't advertised them anywhere yet; they're better suited for an Acura and I don't know anyone with an Acura. But they do FIT (albeit not optimally) a Subaru.

(P.S. it wouldn't be much trouble to drag just ONE up to Firestone with me if someone wanted to mount it and see how it looked or whatever. But I don't want to haul all 4 up and then have to haul them all BACK if you didn't want them)

The stock forester offset is 48mm

So these shouldn't be a problem at all for me

300 will work fine for me!

I'm going to have to figure out a day to come down and pick them up... at least a 2 hour drive

Any side-pictures of them on your car or of the curb rash?

The larger wheels/tires on a forester isn't so bad, considering the larger height

And, these will be my pure summer/fall tires/wheels

    thanks!

I took a bunch of pics before stacking them. They didn't turn out very well; for some reason my now-broken Fuji FinePix seems to "hide" the actual rim damage, and make the light beige "storage dust" look like quarter-inch-thick FILTH. It's just silly.

Anyway, this will be a test to see how many big honkin' pics this new forum software will let me attach.

"worstrash.JPG" is literally the worst rash of them, the others are relatively tiny. It covers almost 1/3 the total radius and is ugly when you look close, but it's not "deep" and didn't appear to bend the lip.

I should emphasize that even though these are 17" wheels, the 40-series tires end up netting a SMALLER outside diameter than stock!!

And here's a side-view pic from the previous owner.

    Alright!

Thanks for the pictures, they look really nice

I'm just a bit worried about fender gap..

    My stock size is 205/70/15

    and these are 205/40/17 right?

Well, they certainly won't rub! ;)

    Correct.

70 series are for trucks and luxury cars, and have monstrous sidewalls.
40 series are VERY low-profile, with short stiff sidewalls designed for quick responsive cornering. (Also, these are Z-rated, not quite as "low-end" as some of the other sizes available in the Ziex series)

Visit tirerack.com's "Wheel Chooser", punch up a platinum-silver Forester, and pick the Kazera KZ-U's in 17" silver (closest match I could find) to get an idea about the proportions.
