Need to haul a WRX from Lino Lakes to Minneapolis.

Has to be flat-bedded cause the driveshaft didn't get disconnected and I don't have time to do it before transport.

Anyone near Mpls here got a flat bed car trailer they'd borrow/rent to me for a part of a day?

I'll have a truck in town to use Wed night and Thurs morning this week, with Thursday morning being the day I'm planning to go get the car.

If you can't find one I know Bloomington rental center has tilting flatbed car haulers. I have used them a few times.

    I'll check them out.

U-Haul wants an arm and a leg to rent one for a day.

Could practically open the yellow pages and just cold call a towing company for that price.

    And I'm an idiot.

    I think I checked one-way instead of in-town. It is $50.

Ehh. It's OK, but only the larger ones will haul a car (the 14' isn't wide enough according to the ad), so a U-Haul will be just as cheap if not cheaper.

If you were using one of them to tow a bunch of sleds for a weekend, it would be a killer deal.

it is a really good deal. you cannot get a large 24' or 28' ENCLOSED for $60 for a whole day anywhere else!!! he has the 20' open trailer too. this guy has all the right stuff to haul a car.
but go ahead and rent the craptastic U-haul trailers... all rusted out piles of **** if you ask me.

my story with u-haul, i rented a bike trailer once. it was a pile of crap. on the way to the track, the d-ring broke and my bike fell off the trailer and was dragged on the road. luckily i bought insurance thru them so they covered the damage.

stay with a quality trailer! rent from the guy i posted above. i have used him to haul my corvette and it was awesome!!!

That CL one was simply the wrong trailer for the job.

    We made it work, though.

nah - just not the best trailer for a non-functioning vehicle. Guy was fine. I'd recommend him. Equipment was in very good shape - lights & brakes worked perfect, trailer tracked perfectly.

But - the ramp was too short and had a big huge gap at the trailer, so it was REALLY tough to get in. Also, no good spots to anchor a come-a-long. He also borrowed us one, but it was incomplete.

We'd have been totally SOL, but Jeff's (wrexinator03's) mom came home and pushed us up the ramp with a SCHOOL BUS! lol

The only problems were cause I didn't really know what would've been best.

For example, getting that 20ft (or whichever - smallest one he said would haul a car) enclosed trailer through an alley in Uptown Mpls was a serious bitch.

I went to U-Haul and looked at their car haulers - they actually would've likely worked VERY well, but they were all reserved for today already.
