I don't know where or when it happened, but I just got home and noticed that the edge of the tint on the driver side door is all scratched and chewed. The black plastic piece that goes on the exterior of the pillar in between the two doors is all chewed up, like a wire was getting rubbed between the glass and the pillar.
Dude, that sucks! Can the tint be repaired to match? I'm just glad I didn't get caught. Your car is the sex.
Been there and know the sucky feeling. Felt like the bastards were still looking. Thankfully it was a movie theater parking lot and not my residence. Death to thieves.
Do you have a stereo or something? anything they might have thought was an easy steal?? where was the car..... ( don't wanna leave my car there) j/k...... but not really
It has an aftermarket stereo. If it happened tonight it was at my work parking lot in Eden Prairie, I left it there while my wife and I took my daughter to her pre-op appointment at Children's hospital. the car was alone for like 3 hours.
Sorry to hear that Chris, I know what it feels like only they got in ... left the stereo stuff after unhooking it all nicely and took my Helly Hanson rain coat and Leatherman ... WTF!!! Oh and like Steph said about the alarm I bet thats what did it. I know thats what scared them from mine, they got greedy and tired to break into the STi right next to mine in the lot and the alarm went off on that one.
this is kinda worrisome, all these attempted break ins and thefts of subarus... it feels like Australia 15 yrs ago... they were one of the highest rated stolen vehicles especially for getaways from Ram Raiding..
happened to my RS a couple years back out at my parents house in Victoria. I came outside and the window trim was ripped off and the window was scratched..
This morning I noticed that the window switches on the door are all scratched the tint is not even a month old, and now I have to pay to get the window redone. I don't even know how to remove and replace the plastic molding on the exterior of the pillar, or how much a new one costs.
I know the feeling, and it sucks. I had my 1 day old BMW broken into in Nice,France, got our labtops, and my friends DSLR. We sould have had them in the trunk, but that was too full Plus who ever did this has balls, it was 2pm and the car was parked on a super busy road, as seen from the picture. SO a new window, new trim, and had to get to door resprayed.
If I was trying to steal your stereo I would just break the damn window, they probably were trying to steal your entire car, I dunno, something suspicious is going on, my underbrace was bent last time Matt changed my oil, I think someone tried to steal my wheels, this blows... It's getting worse each day, I hate this ****.
That sucks! When I got my subie a few years back, it was stolen 3 TIMES!!! All in the same week! I don't think the people who took it knew how to drive it, or were just really weird for leaving it parked on random streets around my neighborhood. We found it on our own all 3 times, no help from the useless California police - and each time, something else was broken and/or missing. The last time we found it, it was up on blocks, but we got in time to save the wheels
wow. kinda makes me feel glad i dont have a car but not really. sorry about that goalie, I hope your chilled out. at least the damage is repair able.
