ok... So today I was able to get new non slotted frozen rotors and hawk performance pads installed today by nathan (WRXBOY2003) THANK YOU! The reason for this install was because after going to the dealership 3 times from a sound they said it was due to a warped rotor. This sound appears when I do a very slow stop. If I am going 15mph and apply enough pressure to my brakes to have the pads touch the rotor but not really have me slow down I recieve a clunk clunk clunk... clunk clunk clunk coming from my passenger side front. This sound my wife once felt thru the floorboard while driving. I hear it mostly after the car is warmed up. So, while leaving the shop I wasnt hearing it and automaticly figured it was all gone. I go back to work. On my way home, pretty much the road before I pull into the driveway, I do a light brake and I hear the noise. I drove up and down the street listening to it. The tune sounds maybe a little different since the parts were replaced but it is still there. WHAT COULD IT BE!? I was hoping this would be solved for me to do an autox this weekend, but no way am I going to be hard on my car with this sound. I have a friend I am going to have listen to it this weekend but I was hoping someone might shed some light on this. $350 dollar attempt to fix a sound didnt work. My car definitly brakes though!
hmmmm maybe an axle.... sorry should have reminded me about the sound and maybe we could have looked into it more... I didnt hear anythign when I beat on it up the road.. ha ha... let me kow how you go maybe we can take another look at it...
I went back to wrxboy2003 and he had a closer lookover of my car. he shifted things around and had listened to the sound.. thus far the next thing were gonna try is the brake hardware. I bought HPS performance pads which didnt come with hardware and he noted that the passenger side the pads could shift more than the left so I will buy new hardware for it and see if that fixes the sound. Other than that I am now not so worried about it since he looked over the rest of the area real well.
