Ok, so I just bought a used short shifter, and it's a bit too short for me. It's a pretty extreme difference from my stock outback sport shifter.

Anyway, it's a one-piece aluminum shifter. Looks like the one in the picture. I can take an actual picture of the one I have if you want to see it.

But, I'd like to trade it for a stock 2.5RS shifter, which is shorter than my stock shifter.

If anyone is interested, let me know. Thanks,
    Joel

yeah, Yia sent me a pm about it.

Here's a pic of what I'm looking for. The one on the left is a stock OBS shifter, the circled one is out of a 2.5rs, it has a bit shorter throw since the pivot point is moved up a bit. I'd like to compare yours to my stocker and see how it looks.

I can meet you at firestone, or you can stop by sometime, let me know.

    Thanks,
    Joel

Yeah, I got that pic from here, http://www.wac.addr.com/auto/obs/shifter/shifter.html

"Picture, left to right: 1997 Outback Sport shifter, 1999 2.5RS Coupe shifter, Mike Moffa Version 1 short shifter (intended for non-2.5RS), Mike Moffa Version 2 short shifter (intended for 2.5RS)."

It's got to feel like mine to be the 2.5RS short one.

Well, I took mine back apart and it was actually rubbing a bit, I thought it was going to be ok when I installed it last night. Anyway, I'm going to flip that ring around 180deg and grease up the linkage a bit and see how it is...

Still available. I switched back for now, just too hard to shift on a worn tranny and I don't have the ingredients to try an uncle scotty mix.

Either trade for a 2.5rs shifter, or I'd sell it for $30. I'll give Illegal2.2 first dibs if he wants to buy it since he wanted to trade (his shifter was the same as mine...).

Here's a picture of it compared to my stock shifter.

I may be interested in swapping... Can anyone compare this to a RS shifter? I don't 'need' a shorter shift, necessarily, but it may not be a bad thing.

You can kinda get an idea from the pictures I've posted above. The second picture shows a stock OBS vs stock RS shifter vs some aftermarket ones, and the bottom picture is my stock OBS shifter vs the short shifter. I'd say it reduced the throw on my car by more than 50%, so on yours it might be 30 or 40% shorter...
