I have a jet hot 2000 degree coated and thermotec exhaust wrapped Invidia Divorced Wastegate downpipe. Looking to trade for similar non divorced wastegate downpipe. I'm switching to an ewg and have no need for the divorced section any longer as the iwg will be welded. Thanks. Pete
Wouldn't the divorced wastegate section be taking up space that could otherwise be used to expel exhaust gases?
I may be better off keeping this after all if thats the case. I always assumed that an ewg setup would flow much better with a non divorced because of the lack of unused space in the bellmouth section. Doesn't change things on the up pipe but that makes this install easier...one less thing to futz with.
yeah if you can make money by getting the nonbellmouth dp then do it. the divorced wastegate essentially will be the same as your hks since you wont be using the iwg of the turbo anyways and there is wall in the bellmouth to seperate gases. now that you wont be using the iwg hole it really doesnt matter...there wont be turbulence in the bell housing(assuming you stayed with the divorced dp)..if there is any it would be very small.
oh and it makes no sense to weld your turbo now that we have the brackets out...unless you want to kill your turbos resale value i guess(potential buyers are going to know you boosted the shiznit out of the turbo).
Time may be a factor here. I'm hoping someone out there has an 02-05 wrx that needs both the up and downpipe and can sell them both at once if I go that route so I can get the new part ordered and welded asap.
well either dp will work fine for you so it doesnt really matter which one you use. you just wont be utlizizing the divorced section anymore.
