    Hello all,

I am looking at changing classes for autox and need a catted downpipe. I am looking to trade my Invidia V3 divorced wastegate catless downpipe for a catted downpipe. I'm not too picky on brand, but I would like a full 3" and not tapered to 2.5" like the Cobb. Don't waste your time offering your stock downpipe either ;)

The downpipe is currently on the car, so I do not have pictures - yet the downpipe is in decent shape. I prefer to trade locally, and I will also offer to take off my downpipe first and take it to you for you to install first. Heck, I'll even help with the swap.

Let me know what you have! If you have a catted downpipe for outright sale (again, NOT stock), feel free to post it up.

    Thanks!

    Jordan

Bump this up. I might be looking for a td04 in excellent condition soon too...

I'd honestly have a high flow welded into your existing pipe.. a lot of catted pipes don't meet the distance requirements for St, putting them right behind the turbo when they need to be where the third cat is.

Ah good point, that stupid "within 6 inches" rule...guess I didn't realize that some of the aftermarket downpipes don't meet that requirement - thanks for pointing that out.

Would something like this suffice? And then just have a shop weld it in...maybe take it to RS or MAP...

yeah, that cat should be fine. see if you can find the cel count though. the fewer the better, and all the way down to 150 is legal.
basically, you can cut the lenghth of it off before the flange on your downpipe, and weld it straight in. just make sure your o2 sensor lands right after it. do it that way, and you'll be within full compliance.

moving it as far down as you can gives you a better boost response as it gives you a larger pre-cat chamber to compress until the turbo spools and gets things going.

Oh, just noticed.. that's a ceramic core... steel core tends to flow a little better is my understanding.

Thanks for the info Shane! I need to do some more searching for a good cat - I just did a quick search to find that one.

To meet the requirements, wouldn't this be one of the few that technically "fly" with the rules?

I talked this guy down a bit on price, so I'm thinking it might almost be more cost effective to pick up this one and sell my current dp instead of finding a decent high flow and paying someone to weld it in. I guess its ultimately my choice lol.

that downpipe should be legal.. it would appear to land in the 6" rule. it looks quite similar to the setup I have.
i don't know about the cat quality, or if there's an O2 bung in it (which needs to be AFTER the cat).
