Ok I have finally decided to go without the STi wing. I will trade for any other CGM trunk lid in decent shape that is wingless, WRX wing, or limited trunk (preferred but highly unlikely). Would prefer that the Subaru still be on the trunk. I would consider buying a trunk lids that was CGM and keeping mine also if the price was right. Matt
I've got a CGM trunk with WRX wing, but I can't quite being myself to part with it, even though I pretty much have to run my big wing for autox classing. Your cheapest route if you can't find a trade might be to get Ray's and have it painted. http://www.mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17103
Why do you have to run a big wing for autox.... sure wish I knew all the classing stuff? I have l lots of engine mods already so thinking body parts are not going to make a big difference in classing for me at this point. So changing trunks does change classes? Not sure if I should care because the turbo is about the only thing I have not replaced at this point.
STi classing, roughly least to most modified: AS, STU, BSP, SM And there are some things that will take you beyond SM. AS and BSP have to keep the wing. STU and SM can swap it. I run AS, car comes from the factory with the wing so it has to stay. I don't know all the details of what is permissable in each class beyond STU, if you post up your mods I imagine Shane, Esper, or someone can give you an idea.
