There is always something wrong when something is brand new, just released. As for the 1k+ people are paying, thats the most idiotic thing ive seen in a long time.

Go to Ebay and search on xbox360, you'll be suprized at all the morons willing to pay x amount of money for a faulty system. I would never pay more for an item then what it's worth. Damn, I wish I could've waited in line for one then sell it on Ebay for $1500+

i did something relatively close to this one time, but not for that much profit.

last november, my current favorite and only online game came out; world of warcraft!

the game sold out extremely quick... within the 1st hour of store openings. if you did not reserve a copy, you're not going to get one until near christmas unless by random luck. i happened to fall into a few copies (5) when it came out, and the store manager was not willing to let me part with 5 copies! i pleaded my case with him, saying that all my buddies had pooled money and given it to me, and being that i lost the bet, i had to go and buy them all the game. after 3 minutes of intense customer relation skills and BS, i made my purchase and was on my way home to enjoying a few minutes on eBay, listing the game away. to my astonishment, i had purchased the games for $49.99 each and within a few hours, my auctions had garnished up to an amazing $150.00! when all was said and done, i had profitted over $600.00 on 4 of the games, being i kept one for myself.

so you see, the moral of the story is, if you know somethings going to be a HOT item when it comes out, it's not a bad idea to drain the economy for what's it's worth to someone else.
