Well here she is as of Sunday. I have a few odds and ends to finish and then need to do the wiring. Got a kit off EBay that is way more then what I need so it shouldnt be to bad. So here is the list: Swap meet frame, Speedway 4"drop front axle, Ford spindels with GM disc brakes. 74 Nova 411 posi rearend with 85 Firebird disc brakes. 1917 Dodge body with a 1950 Studebaker trunk welded on back. Home made 1/4's and spring flares. Speedway motors rear spring kit. S10 steering column, UniSteer rack. Chevy 350 motor and trans. I need to figure out how to make a rear seat back also. Was hoping to have it out this month but I took a job this week driving a RV Semi out the Elkhart Wisc for the Vintage race this weekend at Road America. I've never been out there and this way it's all paid for plus I get paid to haul a few cars out and back. Anyway, here are a coupld pictures of the bucket
Hands down one of the coolest cars on the site. You going to be bringing this to Firestone one of these nights?
Yup I will run it by Firestone when I get her going or bring it by one of the get togethers. It's been a long project and I can tell you I wont build a car from scratch ever again. I will stick to putting v/8's in fieros or something. We are building a Pro Street 57 Nash Metro in the neighbors garage. It should be out next summer. Check out how narrow that rearend is. The Panhard bar is only 6" long. lol Ya just want to chrome it and put it on a shelf. lol Maybe the next time the XT pukes the motor I will put a 305 in it. Just happen th have a good one sitting on a stand waiting for a car. lol How long you think the XT rearend will hold up? I would have done it already but I couldnt figure out how to get the steering to work without cutting it all out and putting a mustang 2 front under it. Anyway, here is the Nash sitting in his driveway. If you guys need rollcages or stuff like that made or work like this done, my neighbor is out of work and can weld just about anything and fab anything.
That is one sweet ride! Im looking to build a 28 Ford truck rat rod or a 30 Ford A body Rat rod. Maybe ill hit ya up when im ready to start. Nice Work!!
I'm loving both projects! there's a Nash like that that's made a couple appearances here in Duluth. short clip of it doint the 1/8th last summer at the Garfield Time Trials (the very last clip of the video)
Holy SHyt.......................................I would love to see taht tiny thing in person, with those humongous tires on there. WOW very impressive. I see buckets every day. But they're still sweet
My question is how in the hell are those buckets legal down the road when I got a ticket for having my tires stick out from under my Wrangler by 1"? WTF, I was even being good when I got pulled over?
street rod plates. has to have a title older than like '50 or something. exempt to all those things. there's a guy in the MN-Jeep club that used to have a '47 willys-based crawler. he had street rod plates on it (blt4rcks ), and the tires were entirely outside the body.
love the nash metropolitians. my sister has wanted one for as long as I can remember. We grew up going to AMC/ rambler car shows. My dad has a 68 amc rebel convertable. nice projects, I hope to see them around town.
Very sweet.... One of the reasons I don't waste $$$ on my Subaru.... I want to build a hot rod or rat rod
