Last year at this time you people worked my a$$ off coming up with challenging Subaru trivia questions as we ran our first ambassador contest. That thing kept me up at night and I absolutely loved it! Another is in the works starting on Jan 1. I can tell you this will be a very simple contest with maybe three rules, take zero research, no PM's, optional uploading (only for extra credit, but completely photo optional) and I truly mean it this time when I say, @tangledupinblu could even win. Newbies...your chance to impress is here and more important, get that ever so meaningful post count up. Stay tuned Subaru fam...and await with bated breath.
Okay...here we go. Welcome to "Have you ever? Show me" Every question will start off with those three words followed by a subaru related question. Your answer is one of two, either yes or no. If you have a picture to illustrate, you receive a bonus point. For example, "Have you ever owned a red Subaru?" You answer yes, put up either a photo of the car you owned or a stock photo from somewhere showing an example of it. It's that easy and so are these guidelines: A yes is worth a point. A photo (show me) with the yes is worth another point. A no is worth one point (just because your playing) Answers for the current question cease counting when the next question is posted. This will run until Saturday at noon 1/7 with two questions posted daily. Please "like" the photos that, well, you really like. In the event of a tie, most likes will win tiebreaker. There will be a first and second place. Every point accumulated will earn a ticket to go into the hat, most likely same hat as last year, and fabulous prizes will be awarded for whoever is drawn. Most points accumulated during the contest automatically secure the first place fabulous prizes and your tickets will not go into the hat. I'm hoping the pictures will be the best part this whole thing. Question number one: Have you ever had your Subaru on a closed course on or off road?
Yes, but only once at BIR and I didn't have anyone taking photos for me so no sweet action shots. What I do have is a picture of the number written on my back window and a screenshot from a GoPro video (mounted on the windshield).
One of the only cars I'd consider owning again... Along with the rsvx. Just realized I had mud flaps on cars I raced on tarmac and not on ones I rallyx'd.
Hells Yes! Don't have any still pictures, but do have video evidence (bonus points?!?) as well as mad entertainment value.
On to question 2! Have you ever hauled something on top of your Subaru or had something sticking out the window, trunk or hatch because it would not fit completely inside? Dogs hanging out windows do not count.
I miss what that car was then. But it was pretty rusty when I sold it. Then it served as winter beater for at least 3 people over 5 years or so, and then wrecked when it's drunk owner (not someone I knew) went straight through a "T" intersection at 60mph. The impact with the ditch kinked the roof.....
Nope, if I need to carry/haul anything that big I use the Pilot. The bugeye is purely for my own enjoyment.
Yep, had exhaust and bumper sticking out the back windows of the RS. Daily drove it in various states of disrepair for a couple months while working on the swap on the weekends. Didn't have enough room in the garage so stored most of the parts in the car. Closest pic of said state I could find at the moment...
On to question three! Have you ever been in an accident with your Subie and sustained noticeable damage to your car?
Yes, unfortunately. I've totaled two Subarus. My beloved '99 2.5RS I totaled in 2003. I don't have damage pics of that one, but our brand new 2015 Forester was totaled by a 10 point buck September 2015. Actual pics:
Stay off the roads tonight to keep safe! Public service announcement. Roads are solid ice here in Andover.
sweet thanks! Question #2 yes Bikes on the back Snowboards on top. QUESTION #3 - yes, Dec 2 of last month, not the best picture but front end damage with the hood pushed up.
Yes. Hit the 694 sound barrier by Long Lake Rd in New Brighton and ended up running a black bumper from the ZipTie rally car for about 3 yrs. Also rear ended a Lincoln LS on 35w north while in stop and go traffic. Thought that he was going...but he was stopping. Same car was also totaled after 3 feet of water rushed into my garage(also in New Brighton and @derp was a witness as his beloved Audi also went swimming) Pics of swimming Subaru...
Not really an accident but I sustained a significant amount of hail damage this past summer. Pretty difficult to get a good photo of it but this is how it looked after all of the dings were marked for the estimate.
