    The media has no idea what to call a sword made in the Japanese style, so they just call it a "Samurai Sword". There are (accepted) proper terms for modern blades made in the aforementioned style.

    I keep a sword next to my bed. If anybody breaks in, they are losing fingers at the very least.

    I do the same thing except it's a Remington 870, and they're going to lose a lot more than fingers.
