well if you do let me know because there will be a car in our shop next week that needs a thorough electrical checking to make sure everything looks fine.
well it sounds like a few of you have some experience. shall we have a "tear into rich's electrical system" day next week?
ok, rich is coming down end of next week. maybe we should do something saturday(14th) night....get you electrical guys together and run through the electrical system on the car.
I will be comeing down friday night, so Saturday would work out great. What I mainly need done is to look at the drive by wire wires for the throttle and check to make sure none of the wireing is melted. And check some grounds.
I don't know when I can be there Saturday- I've already got a bushing install planned with Stoooo. If we finish up at a decent time I'll be there. I have wire loom wrap I can bring if needed and I'll give anyone who wants a few feet what they need. 1/4", 1/2" and 1" are what I have.
I'm using All Data Pro, there's a lot of wire diagrams, and "complete" isn't and option, If you can pick from the list of specific closeups or systems you need that would help. Here's the list: Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems Antitheft and Alarm Systems Backup Lamp Brake Lamp Brake Warning Indicator Charging System Courtesy Lamp Cruise Control Dashboard / Instrument Panel Differential Assembly Fog/Driving Lamp Hazard Warning Lamps Headlamp Heated Glass Element Heating and Air Conditioning Horn Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators Keyless Entry Marker Lamp Mirrors Oil Pressure Sender Oil Pressure Warning Lamp/Indicator Parking Brake Warning Lamp Power Locks Powertrain Management Radiator Cooling Fan Radio, Stereo, and Compact Disc Restraint Systems Seat Heater Shift Interlock, A/T Starting System Sunroof/Moonroof Temperature Gauge Transmission Control Systems Turn Signals Windows Wiper and Washer Systems -colin
Why isn't "engine" part of those options? Powertrain management might be the one. I need a wiring diagram that shows ALL the major inputs/uotputs of the engine and related systems. As in this: http://www.graphics.cornell.edu/~v/ecupins/ and these: http://main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru_manual_scans/Chiltons/injectors.jpg For an '04 STi
I'd love to come lend a hand...but I don't think I'll be in town next weekend...sounds like you guys got enough help already.
I've got the full wiring diagrams for the car, I'll just need the install manual for your ECU. How early will I be able to get at it on Sat?
where would I get the install manual? What time do you want it there? I was looking at around noon, let me know
I dunno. Noon or before wouldbe nice. I have to tear out a rear knuckle on my mom's forester that day as well.
ok guys we are definitely on for saturday afternoon...the other guy that was moving in on saturday isnt moving in until next week so whoever wants to come can come and chill....eat some sausage, what have you
looking like I'm probably going to be in town. I'd love to come check out the shop, and help with Rich's car.
sweetz0rz Dan, I'll bring the speedo cable stuff from the old leggy tranny, if you still want it. and I'll bring what little electrical equipment I have, and my usual stack of diagrams (although they probably won't help....at all....)
That'd be tight. I've still got some pieces parts from that tranny I found in my piles of crap. I work at four, so I'll have to dip out a bit early.
alright boys..lets meet at the shop around 12 30 tomorrow(saturday). rich has snausage so we can cook out. everyone is welcome to stop by and chill if you want. Justin
