Ziptie Rally Team (ZRT) completed the third running of the Nemadji Trail Rally in 2010 this past weekend. Nemadji Trail is two coefficient one stage rallies run out of Duquette, MN and sanctioned by Rally America. ZRT fielded two cars - 171 an Open class STI driven by Carl Siegler and co-driven by Dave Goodman and 858, an Open Light class Impreza driven by Anthony Israelson with stand-in co-driver Dan Drury (one of the founding members of ZRT). 858's usual co-driver, Jason Standage, could not attend due to military training. 858 faced a tough battle in Open Light. This was the first time this season that they would be competing with two other cars in the class. Chad Haines and Paul Oliver would be in a 1998 Subaru Impreza RS and Adam Yeoman and Jordan Schulze in a 2002 Impreza. By the end of Nemadji 3A the Open Light cars would finish 5th, 6th, and 7th overall with the spread between them only encompassing 15/100ths of a minute! Coming off a disappointing Nemadji 2 where 858 failed to start after damaging their windscreen, Anthony and Dan brought the car home in 7th overall, 3rd in class for both 3A and 3B. Car 171 pushed hard against the only other Open class car, the 323GTX of Erik Zenz and Dave Parps. The lightweight Mazda was able to overcome the high horsepower Subaru in both rallies and beat the 171 car by 14/100ths of a minute and 5/100ths of a minute respectively. Carl and Dave would finish 2nd Overall and 2nd In-class for both rallies. Ziptie Rally will be bringing their cars to the Ojibwe Rallies coming up August 20th and 21st in Bemidji, MN. Some of the best regional awd and 2wd teams in the country will be competing over the fast and technical roads of northern Minnesota. Please come out and support the team! The team is selling polo shirts to help fund their trip, for more details please email ziptierally at gmail.com Ziptie Rally would like to thank new sponsors Carbonetic for an amazing front differential that really improved the exit speed on 171 and ContourHD Cameras for providing excellent, robust, on board cameras. Also thanks to sponsors NOS Energy, Team Powder, RS Motors, Graham Evans Motors, Gearhead Graphics, Morries Minnetonka Subaru and the Four Firkins.
Great job guys! Looking good HottCarl, I like how you can watch your steering input by watching the front wheel, on the side view camera, in the video. Also, 'trunk monkey' footage ftmfw+lullz!!
I really like the different angle's. I can see just how much steering input you're applying. Dave if I may ask that you speak just a little louder. LOL
